Special Education is an Integrated Five Year programme. This programme spanning a period of five years, mainly prepares candidates to teach, train and rehabilitate the handicapped children, fourth year leading to B.Sc. B.Ed. Degree and Fifth year leading to M.Ed. Degree. However, only on completion of the requirements in the first three years, the students will be permitted to continue in the fourth year and only on completion of fourth year, they will be permitted to continue to the fifth year. The candidates with B.Sc. B.Ed., M.Ed are eligible for appointment as Special Educators, Resource Teachers and Subject Teachers in schools. They can also work as Consultants, Social Workers, Research Associates and Rehabilitation Workers. The candidate has an option to pursue a subject of her choice on completion of B.Sc. programme in the B.Ed programme.

The Physician Assistant programme is being conducted in collaboration with G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital and D.J. Academy, Coimbatore. Degree will be awarded by the University.  Medium of instruction will be English.  The Emergency and Trauma Care Management programme is being conducted in collaboration with Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore. Degree will be awarded by the University.  Medium of instruction is English.

 Medium of instruction is English for all majors except Tamil. Students are permitted to answer any examination paper in Tamil

with prior permission.
