The Bharat Ratna Prof. C.N.R. Rao Research Centre houses cutting-edge technologies with high end equipment under a roof that facilitate the trans-disciplinary research. This Research Centre with the state -of- the art equipment is available for use by the research scholars in and outside the Institution. It has been established with the funding of DST under "Consolidation of University Research for Innovation and Excellence in Women Universities" (CURIE).

The Research Centre houses a wide array of highly sophisticated equipment like Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), X-ray Diffractometer (XRD), Nano Spray Dryer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), 3D Optical Profilometer, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FT-IR), Body Composition Analyzer, Thermo Gravimetric Analyser (TGA), Texture Analyzer, Plasma Chamber, ICP-OES (for metal analysis), DLS Zeta potential Analyzer, Spectrophotometer with Color Lab, Turbidity meter, Ultrasonic Homogenizer, UV Biospec, Electrochemical Workstation and Ozonizer. This centre has been set up with a sum of several crores of rupees. The facilities available in this high-technology research centre are also extended to the research scholars and staff members of other educational and research institutions, at a nominal cost, as an outsourcing activity.
