Vision

The Department of Chemistry seeks to be recognized as one of the best centres of Chemical Education in South India and distinguish itself by its successful education of students in the chemical sciences. Strengthening of core areas of research and contribution to interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research that addresses societal problems is envisioned.

The Department of Chemistry inducted in the year 1967 with inception of B.Sc. Degree programme has grown to become a postgraduate research department with M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes with quality chemistry education. The graduates are mentored to gain core knowledge and imbibe values and prerequisite skills needed to build their career and contribute to the community.

MoU Signed by the Department of Physics

• The Department of Physics signed a MoU with IRRD Automations, Corporate Office, 468/C, VNC Park, NGO Nagar Road, Karur – 639007, in the year 2023. The MoU was established to include technical training related to automation and sensors under the title “Arduino with Sensor Interfacing” as a Professional Certificate Course for a period of three years.

Two labs, one undergraduate lab and one postgraduate lab, equipped well hosting all necessary equipments for the students to develop their practical skill. One solar lab, on the terrace, is available to carry out solar thermal experiments. One research lab dedicated to host the sophisticated instruments with necessary amenities like water supply, air - conditioning is available. Necessary equipments namely vacuum ovens, pumps, furnaces are available.
