MULTIMEDIA SECTION

Location: First Floor

  • A collection of Non-Book Materials such as Audio Cassettes, Video Cassettes , Compact Disk (7000 ) etc is maintained at a separate section and enlisted in a computer file.
  • This section is equipped with a multi-media system, TV and Digital Video Disc Player.
  • The components such as graphics, animation and sound, enhances the learning process through visualization. These materials are open to all our Library users

ACQUISITION SECTION

Location: First Floor

  • This section collects request for books from the faculties and checks for duplication.
  • Placing orders with the selected suppliers
  • Receive the books with bills , verify and accession the book and bill
  • The section is automated and manual accession register was discontinued and presently printed accession register is maintained.
  • After acquisition process the books is transferred to technical section

BACKVOLUMES SECTION 

Location: First Floor

A journal, on completion of its volume will be sent for binding. The bound volumes are assigned accession number and kept in backvolume section for future reference. They are also entered in the library management software. These are arranged subject-wise and in alphabetical order in the bound volume area.

Reference/Textbook Section

Location: Mezzanine Floor

Library has a good collection of reference books which includes encyclopaedia, handbooks, dictionaries, biographies, manuals, art books, geographical sources etc. The collection ranges from general to subject specific sources. All the reference sources are housed in the Reference section

Stacking Section

The library has four sections in two floors. The books are classified according to colon classification and arranged subject wise. The signboards and guide cards are available which enables readers to locate the resources quickly. It follows an open access system for all users. Members are advised to check the availability of the books through the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) Service. After obtaining relevant information through OPAC, the users can proceed to the respective stack area to take the books of their choice.

Research Support

Research support will provide users the quality resources available in the library and on the web. Resource support will provide the users the quality resources available in print and electronic format in library and on the web. The Library offers a range of support services for the research activities of the faculty and research scholars.
